This rural cottage is located at Leamlara approx 6 miles north of Midleton. It is one bedroom sleeping up to 2 people and is ideal for a weeks touring of East Cork West waterford or for a relaxing week in the country.
Inside the property
The bedroom has oak flooring and a double bed, this leads to an open airy kitchen with high vaulted ceilings and a velux window to catche the evening sunshine. Black slate flooring with a traditional feel and wood burning stove. A new shaker maple kitchen has been fitted with traditional pine dining table, 2 rocker chairs for watching TV. Free to air satellite reception. Bathroom has shower only ( no bath) , water from a well onsite , solar panes for hot water in on a sunny day & oil central heating for the rest of the year.
Outside the property
The cottage is fenced off for privacy with a patio area to the West of it to sit out & enjoy the setting sun in the evening . Cows & horses can be seen grazing to the fields at the front of the cottage with some free range hens to the rear of it.
About the local area
This rural cottage is located at Leamlara approx 6 miules north of Midleton. It stands on lands once owned by the Standish Barrry estate , part of the farm lands of the old Leamlara house. In recent years it has been restored with a traditional feel while having all the comforts of home. Leamlara is approx 12 miles East of Cork city and is a rural area where agriculture s the primary focus of activity. There are abundant golf courses in East cCork from Fermoy to Youghal to Midlton & up to Cork City. Freshwater fishing is available at the Owenacurra , Blackwater & Funcheon rivers for Salmon & Trout ( with licence). Cobh is a short drive to the heritage center, Fota wildlife park , fishing from the pier in Cobh or a game of golf at Fota golf course. Traditional music at Wallis in Midlton on Tuesdays nights or at Smarts in Ballincurrig the first Friday of the month.
Traveling to the property
N25 & N8 are a short drive . Cork airport is a 30 minute drive , train line to Midlton will be stopping at Carrigtwohill. A car is essential as there is no public transport in the area.
